For Jazz Lovers and Music Lovers Alike, It’s All Here in Massachusetts
(Boston) - The Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism has issued the 5th annual MassJazz Travel Guide, a magazine highlighting jazz festivals, concerts, nightclubs, college courses and related jazz activities taking place in Massachusetts this summer and fall.
The 40 page Guide is available for free at visitor kiosks around the state and at jazz clubs, hotels, restaurants and college campuses.
The Guide lists hundreds of jazz events taking place through the fall, and information on jazz organizations, college programs, radio stations, tourism outlets and more.
Profiled this year are Panamanian musicians Danilo Perez and Samuel Batista; the 50th anniversary of jazz at Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Berklee’s BeanTown Jazz Festival; Harvard’s jazz radio program and live jazz in Boston-area hotels.
MassJazz was launched in 2009 by the Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism (MOTT) to promote the state’s vibrant jazz scene year round to the travel industry.
“Massachusetts’ robust jazz scene touches every part of the Commonwealth,” says Betsy Wall, executive director of Mass Office of Travel & Tourism. “Its vibrancy adds to the distinctive performing arts scene here in Massachusetts that offers rich cultural programming all year round.”
MOTT has partnered with Berklee College of Music, Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Top of the Hub Restaurant, Scullers Jazz Club, Regattabar Jazz Club, JazzBoston and other jazz groups across the state to produce this year’s MassJazz guide.
